CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: An awareness program on “Cyber Security Awareness – Starts With You” and “Drug-Free India” was organized at the Vanamali Auditorium of SCOPE Global Skills University, Bhopal.

The objective of the program was to sensitize students and youth about important issues such as rising cybercrimes, substance abuse, road safety rules, and women’s safety. The initiative proved to be an important step towards shaping students into aware, responsible, and safe citizens.

On this occasion, ASI Chetan Gupta from Misrod Police Station, SI Rajkumar Gupta, Head Constable Ashok Tomar, and Lady Constable Priyanka Tomar were present as chief guests. University Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vijay Singh, Registrar Dr. Sitesh Kumar Sinha, and DSW Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma were also present.

ASI Chetan Gupta highlighted the importance of road safety and raised awareness about the use of helmets and seat belts, adherence to traffic rules, and safe driving practices. Lady Constable Priyanka Tomar informed students about women’s safety and related laws, encouraging female students to stay aware of their rights and report any incidents without hesitation.

SI Rajkumar Gupta educated students about the harmful effects of substance abuse, explaining that it negatively impacts not only health but also mental balance, family relationships, and social reputation. He motivated youth to stay away from drugs, engage in positive activities, and remain focused on their goals.

Head Constable Ashok Tomar provided detailed information on cyber security, explaining preventive measures against cybercrimes such as social media fraud, phishing, OTP scams, and banking fraud. He advised students not to share confidential information and to report suspicious activities immediately.

On this occasion, Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi stated that in today’s world, academic knowledge alone is not sufficient; it is equally important for students to become aware, responsible, and safe citizens. He emphasized that issues like cyber security, de-addiction, road safety, and women empowerment are directly linked to the holistic development of youth. Such programs not only guide students in the right direction but also play a vital role in bringing positive change in society.

During the program, students actively asked questions and clarified their doubts. The entire event was informative and inspiring. In the end, the university administration expressed gratitude to all guests and participants and reiterated its commitment to organizing such awareness programs in the future.

Faculty members, staff, and around 200 students from various departments actively participated in the event.
