CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Central India’s first skills university, Scope Global Skills University, has begun the academic session 2026–27 with a significant collaboration with International Business Machines (IBM). Under this agreement, an industry-integrated specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning will be introduced for B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering) students.
As part of this collaboration, students will receive training from IBM experts, project-based learning, industry case studies, digital modules, as well as internship and placement opportunities. This will enable them to connect directly with the industry from the early stages of their careers. The courses will include approximately 60% industry exposure and 40% classroom learning.
In addition, SGSU is running various industry-oriented programs in collaboration with leading national and international organizations. These include AI and ML programs with IBM, Artificial Intelligence programs with Nextwave Institute of Advanced Technologies, future tech programs (AI and Data Science) with Geeks of Gurukul, hospitality management with National Restaurant Association of India, event management with National Institute of Event Management, event leadership with Management and Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council, human resource operations with MEPSC, financial accounting with Tally Education, creative career programs (animation and filmmaking) with Reliance Animation, beauty and wellness careers with International Institute of Cosmetology and Aesthetics, clinical embryology with International Training in Healthcare Sciences, automotive technology under the joint collaboration of Hyundai Motor Company, Hero MotoCorp, and Bosch, electrical and electronics with VVDN Technologies, cloud computing and IT with Google, e-commerce programs with AISECT, logistics and supply chain with Confederation of Indian Industry, banking and finance with Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, advanced technical skill programs with HCL Technologies, and music, performing arts, and creative industry programs with Laureen Music Academy. These courses are designed to equip students with skills aligned with real industry requirements and prepare them for employment.

The university aims to provide industry-oriented, practical, and future-ready skills to youth so that they can generate both employment and self-employment opportunities. All courses are designed in accordance with National Education Policy 2020 (NEP), National Skills Qualifications Framework, and National Credit Framework standards, ensuring a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
SGSU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certification programs across various fields including engineering and technology, computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics, communication engineering, future skills and IT, animation, multimedia, gaming and VFX, management studies, hospitality and tourism, education, banking, finance and commerce, agriculture, pharmaceutical sciences, humanities, design, media, and journalism.
With the support of over 22 industry leaders, students receive two global certifications each year from renowned companies such as Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Unity Technologies, making them globally competitive.
The university focuses on 60% practical training, where students benefit from the “Earn While You Learn” model through internships and apprenticeships, enabling them to earn while studying. The campus features modern infrastructure and industry-driven Centers of Excellence, offering real-world industry exposure. Students also benefit from learning with IIT alumni, working on live industry projects, and receiving placement assistance.
SGSU offers several scholarship schemes, including the “Shiksha Mitra Scholarship” for meritorious and economically weaker students. Additionally, students can avail benefits from the National Scholarship Scheme, AICTE Pragati Scholarship, and other government initiatives.
The university has been honored with prestigious awards such as “Top University of India,” “First Skills University of Central India,” and “Best University in Industry-Academia Interface.”
Highlighting the university’s vision, Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi said that the aim is not just to provide degrees but to equip students with real skills, confidence, and industry-relevant experience to prepare them for the future.
Vice-Chancellor Vijay Singh stated that through SGSU’s industry-integrated learning model, students are gaining real work experience, and the collaboration with IBM will open new opportunities in emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, aligning students with future industry demands.
Registrar Dr. Sitesh Kumar Sinha added that this partnership with IBM is a significant step toward directly connecting students with the industry, with a goal of providing transparent, accessible, and outcome-oriented education that leads to successful careers.
