CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A two-day national seminar was organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts at Scope Global Skills University (SGSU), with its inaugural session held on Friday.

The seminar, conducted at the Vanmali Auditorium of SGSU, focused on the theme “Skill Development: Building a Workforce for Developed India’s Future.” The event was sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research.

The inaugural session featured prominent speakers and subject matter experts, including Manoj Kurmi, Director of the Archaeological Survey of India (Bhopal Circle), and Manish Bhargava, Professor from the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, NITTTR. Key dignitaries present included SGSU Vice-Chancellor Ajay Bhushan, Registrar Sitesh Sinha, Abhishek Gupta, General Manager of the Project Department of AISECT Group, and Rachna Chaturvedi, Research Director of AISECT University Group.

Welcoming the guests, faculty, and students, Vice-Chancellor Ajay Bhushan emphasized that such national seminars greatly benefit both educators and students. Highlighting SGSU’s unique position as the only university in Central India dedicated to skill development, he reiterated its commitment to nurturing the skills of young people.

The seminar’s convener and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Tina Tiwari, outlined the event’s vision and structure. Abhishek Gupta, the Director, addressed the students about the significance of skills in life, discussing the importance of soft skills, time management, and communication in shaping young minds.

Guest of Honor, Professor Manish Bhargava from NITTTR, spoke about skill development and its potential. He praised SGSU’s initiatives and expressed a willingness for further collaboration between NITTTR and SGSU

Chief Guest Manoj Kurmi shared insights from his experiences in archaeology, emphasizing its historical importance and the future possibilities in the field. He highlighted the skills required in non-technical subjects and the employment opportunities they offer. Through a PowerPoint presentation, Kurmi explained excavation practices focusing on sustainability. He also interacted directly with students, answering their questions in detail.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Arjun Singh, Head of the Fine Arts Department. The event was skillfully anchored by Ms. Vishakha Rajurkar.
