CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Scope Global Skills University (SGSU), Bhopal, has expanded its global certification initiative with the objective of providing students skills in line with industry requirements and enhancing their global employability. The second phase of this initiative is being launched as NSDC Tech Labs – Phase II in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Ethnotech Academy. In the academic session 2026-27, the university aims to provide opportunities for all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) course students to obtain global certifications. Based on the core mantra of “for the industry, by the industry,” the initiative aims to reduce the gap between higher education and the needs of industry. Under this programme, students will be provided technical training on the university campus itself by industry experts. Along with this, they will get the opportunity to pursue industry-based certification courses aligned with their academic curricula, enabling them to develop practical skills and technical proficiency along with theoretical knowledge. The initiative has included certification courses from Microsoft, Intel, IBM, Cisco Networking Academy, AWS Academy, Autodesk, Unity Technologies, MathWorks, Pearson VUE – Information Technology Specialist (ITS), Tally Solutions, Project Management Institute (PMI), National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) and Ethnotech Academy, among others.
Under the first phase of the initiative (Phase 1), students from various faculties, including Information Technology, Engineering, Commerce and Banking, School of Design and Merchandise, and Bachelor of Education, were provided global certification-based training. During this period, students received training in subjects such as Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Machine Learning, Microsoft Excel, Power Platform, PowerPoint and Unity Programming. In the academic session 2025-26, the university succeeded in getting a total of 1,002 students certified through 18 training batches under courses from 17 major global technology companies and certification providers. Under this initiative, special emphasis was placed on linking certification courses with regular academic curricula so that students could gain practical experience along with technical proficiency.
In Phase-II, there will be a special focus on emerging technologies. Building on the success of the first phase, training and certification opportunities will be expanded in the second phase of the initiative. Special attention will be given to emerging technology areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Programming, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Business Applications and Design. The objective is to prepare students in line with the rapidly changing technological world and the future requirements of industries. Scope Global Skills University Chancellor Dr Siddharth Chaturvedi said, “In today’s competitive era, it is not enough to give students only academic knowledge; it is also necessary to provide them practical skills and technical proficiency in accordance with industry requirements. Our objective is to prepare students for better employment opportunities at the global level.”
