CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A two-week special training programme has begun at ICMR Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) with the objective of enhancing the administrative working capacity and efficiency of the institute’s private secretaries, personal assistants and computer operators. The “Secretarial and Office Management” training, being conducted under the aegis of the Institute of Secretarial Training and Management, New Delhi, a leading training institute under the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India, will continue until 6 November.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony through video conferencing from New Delhi, ISTM Director Rajiv Majhi said technical and medical institutions such as hospitals have their own specific challenges in handling administrative and office matters. He said limited understanding of General Financial Rules, noting-drafting and CCS Conduct Rules often creates practical difficulties in quick decision-making at the level of senior officers. Keeping this requirement in mind, BMHRC’s special proposal was given priority and this session was organised.

Majhi clarified that ISTM does not restrict itself to traditional lectures, but provides training through case studies, group discussions and a modern “learning reinforcement mechanism”, so that employees can learn the skill of presenting complex administrative files and proposals in a concise, clear and effective manner.

The chief guest at the ceremony and BMHRC Director Manisha Srivastava appealed to participants to take part in the training with full active involvement. She said highly useful and relevant subjects have been included in the 10-day training schedule. When the administrative team is fully equipped with rules and becomes efficient, the institute’s overall administrative framework will be strengthened and systems will become more robust.

ISTM Deputy Director Rahul Agrawal, who was present at the programme, highlighted the course outline and said the training would be beneficial both for employees’ eligibility for promotion and for their work efficiency. ISTM faculty member T.P. Narayan Murthy, BMHRC officiating Medical Superintendent Anurag Yadav, other officers and all participants were present on the occasion.
