CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Vinod Sen said the political participation and role of the Sen community at the national level appear to be steadily strengthening. He said this change indicates that the country’s major political parties have begun to take the Sen community’s social strength, population, organisational capacity and political influence seriously.
In this context, Vinod Sen said, Hira Thakur being given an important responsibility as national vice president in the Other Backward Classes Department of the All India Congress Committee is a matter of pride for the Sen community. He said the appointment should not be seen merely as a responsibility given to one person, but also as a reflection of the Sen community’s growing political acceptance and increasing importance in national politics.
He said the Sen community has long played an important role in the country’s social life. What is now needed, he said, is that along with social strength, the community’s political participation should also become stronger, so that issues related to its problems, rights and future can be raised effectively at the national level.
Vinod Sen said the responsibility given to Hira Thakur is also inspiring for the youth and social workers of the Sen community. It sends the message that through organisation, active participation and political awareness, the community can ensure its rightful share.
He said the Sen community must ensure its role not merely as a vote bank, but as an equal participant in policy-making and decision-making processes. The need of the hour, he said, is for the community’s participation in political parties to increase and for capable and active social workers to be given responsibilities.
Congratulating Hira Thakur on being entrusted with the important responsibility of national vice president, Vinod Sen expressed hope that he would strongly raise the voice of the Sen community at the national level and give a new direction to the community’s political participation.
