Seven New Judges to Take Oath at Delhi High Court

CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: New Delhi. Seven new judges will take oath of office at the Delhi High Court on Monday, September 21. The swearing-in ceremony will be held on the High Court premises at 10 a.m. Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyaya will administer the oath to the newly appointed judges.

The newly appointed judges are Nivedita Anil Sharma, Nisha Sahay Saxena, Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Aditi Chaudhary, Dinesh Bhatt and Arun Bhardwaj. Nivedita Anil Sharma and Nisha Sahay Saxena have been appointed as permanent judges, while the other five have been appointed as additional judges.

All these judicial officers have experience in Delhi’s district judiciary. Arun Bhardwaj has also served as Registrar General of the Delhi High Court, while Bharat Parashar has served as Secretary General of the Supreme Court.

The central government issued the notification for these appointments on September 19. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the names of eight judicial officers for the Delhi High Court on September 10, of which seven appointments were approved. After these appointments, the working strength of judges in the Delhi High Court will rise to 50, against a sanctioned strength of 60.
