CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The seventh convocation ceremony of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University is set to be held at the Kushabhau Thakre International Auditorium. The ceremony will be presided over by the Honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, Mangubhai Patel.
Chief Guest for the event will be Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Inder Singh Parmar, Minister of Higher Education, Madhya Pradesh, will attend as the special guest. The convocation’s keynote speaker will be the renowned scientist and Padma Vibhushan recipient, Anil Kakodkar, who will deliver the convocation address.
The day before the event, university officials, faculty, and staff conducted rehearsals at the venue. Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Tiwari announced that on the occasion of the university’s Foundation Day and the seventh convocation, the eminent atomic scientist Anil Kakodkar will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree for his unparalleled contributions to the field of science.
Similarly, Ashok Jhunjhunwala, a renowned scientist and academician who has been honored with the Padma Shri, will be conferred an honorary Doctor of Letters degree for his significant contributions to the field of electronics and telecommunications.
Famous geriatrician Dr. Om Prakash Sharma will receive an honorary Doctor of Letters degree for his outstanding contributions to the medical field, particularly in the treatment of age-related diseases.
Additionally, India’s famous physicist and expert in materials science, Jatinder Veer Yakhmi, will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree for his notable contributions to nanotechnology, nanomaterials, and energy-related fields.
University Registrar Sushil Manderia shared that during the seventh convocation, the Raja Bhoj Excellence Medals will be awarded to 27 students for their top performances in various faculties. All preparations for the convocation ceremony have been completed, and there is great excitement among the university’s faculty and staff. Director of Admissions and Evaluation, L.P. Jhariya, stated that, in addition to the excellence medals, degrees will be conferred upon approximately 331 students from various faculties.
