CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University celebrated its 34th Foundation Day and Seventh Convocation Ceremony. The event took place at Kushabhau Thakre International Auditorium (Minto Hall). The ceremony was presided over by Governor and Chancellor Mangubhai Patel, with Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar as the guest of honor.
On this occasion, renowned nuclear scientist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Anil Kakodkar delivered the convocation address. The university honored six scholars with honorary degrees, including Dr. Kakodkar with Doctor of Science, Ashok Jhunjhunwala with Doctor of Letters, and Nageshwar Rao with Doctor of Distance Education.
The Governor presented the Raja Bhoj Excellence Medals to 27 outstanding students, while a total of 331 students received undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Tiwari administered the oath to the graduates, stating that the university is at the forefront of implementing the National Education Policy 2020.
Minister Inder Singh Parmar emphasized the importance of enhancing the university’s recognition and reaffirmed the Higher Education Department’s commitment to promoting India’s knowledge traditions. Dr. Kakodkar, highlighting the role of education, stressed that knowledge should be utilized for the welfare of society.
The event was hosted by Ratan Suryavanshi, and several vice-chancellors and senior officials from various universities were in attendance.
