Research is now under way from generative AI to agentic AI and multi-agentic AI. As a result, a great deal is changing in every sector. There have been unprecedented improvements in the speed and quality of work. The media and creative industries are changing very rapidly because of AI. A recent research study has found that 97 percent of publications worldwide are using AI at the backend for news and content distribution. Prof. Dr. Ganapati S. of NITTTR Bhopal said this in the first session today at the AI FDP being held at MCU. He was speaking on agentic AI and multi-agent orchestration.
Dr. Ganapati said AI has the ability to identify a problem and offer its possible solutions. To work with it, one must understand AI. It is like a collaborator, he said. The kind of command we give it will determine the kind of results it gives us. He said even home appliances today are coming equipped with AI. Advanced technology has made it possible for AI to easily handle many small tasks in our daily lives. In such a situation, it is necessary for us to know how to work with it. AI is proving very helpful in the fields of academics and research. Dr. Ganapati said that from ideation to writing a solid abstract, it can do much better work very quickly. Therefore, it is being widely used in the academic sector.
In the second session today, expert Shri Jaiprakash Parashar spoke on synthetic media and deepfakes. He said there are many virtual influencers in digital media and the market today. They have no existence in the real world, yet lakhs and crores of people follow them. It is because of AI, he said, that concepts such as virtual assistants, newsrooms and anchors are no longer just imagination, but are now being seen at work in every field.

Parashar said digital literacy is also necessary to understand deepfakes. He said that in the news industry, it is very important to verify the facts of any news before taking it to the people. Many AI tools are proving very useful for media and communication professionals in carrying out such work. On this occasion, Parashar discussed in detail various types of deepfakes, metadata analysis and newsroom SOPs, among other topics. Teachers from all departments of the university were present on the occasion.
In the sessions to be held in the coming days of this FDP, well-known experts from across the country will train participants on several important subjects, including AI and generative content, AI newsroom architecture and AI ethics.
