CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Postgraduate (Autonomous) College, Bhopal, organised a special programme on voluntary labour, cleanliness, plastic-free campus and waste segregation under the “Seva Mera Yogdan” Sewa Sankalp campaign.
A total of 70 NSS volunteer students took part enthusiastically in the programme. They carried out a cleanliness drive by sweeping the college campus, collected waste and helped make the premises clean and attractive.
The students segregated plastic and organic waste, gained practical knowledge of waste management and spread awareness about creating a plastic-free campus.
On the occasion, emphasis was also laid on citizens’ participation in society and nation-building through voluntary labour, as well as the importance of the sense of duty enshrined in the Constitution and collective responsibility.
The volunteers described voluntary labour as a strong medium of public participation and conveyed the message of realising the vision of Swachh Bharat and Viksit Bharat.
The programme was held under the able guidance of college principal Dr. Pratima Yadav. It was coordinated with the support of Dr. Pratima Yadav of the Geography Department and Programme Officer Dr. Archana Soni of the Zoology Department. Faculty members and the entire staff of the college actively participated in the programme.
