Skill-based education is being used as a means to connect students with employment. Its programmes emphasise industry-aligned curricula, practical learning, internships and apprenticeships. SGSU’s official documents also list collaboration between industry and academia and the provision of practical skills and employment opportunities to students among the institution’s key objectives.

According to SGSU Vice-Chancellor Vijay Singh, the institution’s effort is to provide students with education and skills that prepare them for changing industry requirements. His emphasis is on industry-academia collaboration, practical experience and preparing students for employment and entrepreneurship.

Under the leadership of Chancellor Siddharth Chaturvedi, SGSU is working to link skill-based education with global exposure and industry integration. The institution’s current academic initiatives also give prominence to industry experts, international academic collaboration and practical learning. SGSU Registrar Sitesh Kumar Sinha has also emphasised the progress of the institution’s various activities and industry-academia engagement.

According to the institution’s official documents, SGSU has signed several memorandums of understanding with sector skill councils, academic institutions and industry bodies. These are aimed at strengthening opportunities for students in skill development and industry-linked practical experience.

SGSU’s initiatives aim to take students beyond classroom learning and prepare them in the direction of “learn, develop skills, gain experience and earn”. From international exposure at UCSI University in Malaysia to experiences at Cybersol in Germany, students are getting opportunities to become familiar with global academic and professional environments. At the same time, campus placements and industry-based internships are helping them connect with the professional world during their undergraduate studies.

The institution believes that in today’s job market, academic qualifications alone are not enough. Industry-related skills, practical experience, communication ability, adaptability and global exposure strengthen students’ employability. With this approach, SGSU is continuing to work towards providing students with skills and career opportunities alongside education.
