CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The NSS unit of Scope Global Skills University (SGSU), Bhopal, successfully organised a one-day cyber security awareness camp at Gram Bagdoda, a village adopted by the university. The programme aimed to make villagers and students aware of online fraud, digital security, prevention of cybercrime and responsible use of digital platforms. The awareness programme was attended by 30 cyber warrior students, around 500 villagers and about 200 students of Government Higher Secondary School, Bagdoda.
Under the theme of cyber security awareness – stay alert, stay safe – the cyber warrior students informed villagers and school students about different methods of cyber fraud and the precautions necessary to remain safe in the digital environment. Speaking about the initiative, Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi said, “In the rapidly changing digital environment, cyber awareness has become an essential part of responsible citizenship. Such initiatives help students take their knowledge beyond the classroom and directly contribute to the safety and awareness of the community.”
Vice Chancellor Dr. Vijay Singh said, “Cyber fraud can affect people from every section of society, especially those who are less familiar with digital platforms. Through this awareness camp, our students are helping villagers and school students understand simple but essential precautions that can prevent cybercrime.”
Registrar Dr. Sitesh Kumar Sinha said, “The active participation of our cyber warriors and NSS volunteers reflects the university’s commitment to linking education with social responsibility. Such programmes provide students an opportunity to serve the community while developing practical skills and awareness.” Dean Students Welfare Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma said, “Cyber security awareness is not limited to technology; it is about developing safe digital habits. We are happy that our students have taken this message directly to families and young learners through both the camp and a door-to-door awareness drive.”
Participants were advised to take immediate action if they become victims of cyber fraud. They were informed about the National Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930 and the official cybercrime reporting portal for reporting cyber financial fraud and other cybercrime incidents. As a special initiative, NSS volunteers and students conducted a door-to-door cyber security awareness campaign in Gram Bagdoda. They interacted with families and shared practical information on online fraud, suspicious calls and messages, digital payment security and protection of personal information. The successful organisation of the camp was made possible with the guidance and support of Chancellor Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Vice Chancellor Dr. Vijay Singh, Registrar Dr. Sitesh Kumar Sinha and Dean Students Welfare Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma.
The programme was coordinated with the special contribution of NSS Programme Officer Dr. Nitin Kumar Dhimole, Head of School Dr. Pooja Bijlani, Assistant Professor Surendra Prabhakar and Rishabh Dev Saini. The camp delivered an important message of “service, awareness and social responsibility” and emphasised the importance of responsible digital behaviour. With the participation of NSS volunteers, cyber warriors, school students and villagers, the initiative contributed to building a safer, more aware and digitally responsible community.
