The School of Management at Scope Global Skills University, Bhopal, organised an industrial visit for BBA and MBA students to the L.M. Bakers (Parle-G) plant at Mandideep. The objective of the visit was to acquaint students with the functioning of a large-scale food manufacturing unit and to connect management concepts learned in the classroom with real industrial conditions.
During the visit, students understood processes related to biscuit manufacturing, production and operations management, raw material management, quality control, packaging, warehousing, inventory, supply chain and logistics. Through interaction with plant officials, students learned about the role of technology, teamwork, hygiene, quality standards and efficient operations in large-scale food production.
The experience proved especially useful for the students as they had the opportunity to observe the production process directly and link their theoretical management knowledge with real business situations. The visit helped them understand various systems, from production to distribution, in the modern FMCG and manufacturing sectors.
SGSU Chancellor Siddharth Chaturvedi said meaningful education is not limited to the classroom. Industrial visits give students an opportunity to understand how theoretical concepts are applied in real business and manufacturing environments. Such experiences help students become capable and industry-ready professionals.
Vice-Chancellor Vijay Singh said industry exposure has an important place in management education. Visits to manufacturing institutions provide students with practical opportunities to understand production systems, quality management, technology and managerial processes.
Sitesh Sinha said experiential learning plays an important role in the overall development of students. Such industrial visits strengthen SGSU’s commitment to skill-based and practical education and create a better connection between academic learning and industry requirements.
Dean Student Welfare Vinod Kumar Sharma appreciated the efforts of the School of Management and said such programmes provide students with exposure to a real industrial environment and make an important contribution to their professional development.
The industrial visit was coordinated by Priyal Nagar, Manjusha Bhondekar and Aradhana Tyagi. The School of Management expressed gratitude to the university administration and to the management and staff of L.M. Bakers (Parle-G), Mandideep, for providing guidance and support to the students.
