CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: The BJP has stepped up preparations for the Assembly elections scheduled in Uttar Pradesh in 2027. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing the party’s state working committee meeting in Lucknow, indicated the key issues of the election strategy. Development, nationalism and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) have been given prominence. Shah made it clear that if the BJP returns to power in the 2027 election, the Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in Uttar Pradesh.
Shah called upon party workers to forget internal differences and resentment and get involved in election preparations. He said elections are not won only on the strength of leaders, but through the hard work of workers and the strength of the organisation. He appealed to them to strengthen the party down to the booth level and work with the aim of forming the government for a third time.
In his address, Shah also targeted Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav. Referring to him as “Akhilesh Babu,” he claimed that the SP would not be able to form a government in Uttar Pradesh for the next 30 years. Shah raised the issue of the Ram temple movement and the police firing on kar sevaks in Ayodhya in 1990, cornering the SP leadership. He said bullets were fired at kar sevaks at that time, while the BJP paved the way for the construction of the Ram temple. Shah also questioned the opposition’s allegations of vote theft and challenged them to discuss the issue in Parliament. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with senior state BJP leaders and office-bearers, was present at the meeting.
