CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the first day of the two-day 10th “Nrityangan National Dance Festival” being held at Shaheed Bhavan, audiences witnessed a mesmerizing confluence of art and devotion. Presented by Pratibhalaya Arts Academy, the performance titled “Nritya Sankirtanam” was directed by renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and Guru Manju Mani Hatwalne, leaving the audience spellbound.
This special presentation was based on South India’s devotional Bhajan tradition, featuring compositions in Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Marathi, rendered in the pure classical style of Bharatanatyam. Through Nritya Sankirtanam, the audience was taken on a spiritual journey—featuring captivating pieces like Maha Ganapati, Bho Shambho, Sandhya Vandanam, Chakra Raaj, Abhang, Naag Nrityam, Achyutananada, and Harivarasanam.
The concept, choreography, and artistic direction by Manju Mani Hatwalne were enhanced by co-director Vishal Hatwalne and costume coordinator Jaya Mani. Noteworthy contributions were also made by assistant choreographers Tanishka Hatwalne and Anishka Kaithwas.
This unique fusion of dance and devotional singing not only awakened a deep spiritual consciousness but also brought to life the profound values of Indian culture on stage. Nritya Sankirtanam was not merely a performance—it was a living experience of devotion, art, and tradition.
