CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: It was a very good second week for Shaitaan, as more than 35 crore came in. In the first week, the film had netted 81.60 crore, and now, after two weeks, it stands at 117.50 crore*. While the weekend saw good growth coming for it, the weekdays too were quite stable for the film, and as a result, it stayed on as the top performer of the week.

There were new releases as well, both from Bollywood and Hollywood, but it was Ajay Devgn & R Madhavan’s horror film that found the maximum numbers coming its way. On Thursday, too, the film stayed at 2.50 crore*, and today, too it should collect more than 2 crore.

There is Madgaon Express as well as Swatantrya Veer Savarkar that has released today, and while they should rise on the basis of word of mouth, it will be interesting to see if they manage to have their first-day collections greater than what Shaitaan collects today.

There is a chance that it does happen for Madgaon Express since it is also arriving with a BOGO offer, which does help bring in added footfalls.

It’s good to see the way Shaitaan has been continuing to find traction because it isn’t as if it has been having an open run with no notable releases. In fact, last week, there was Yodha and then Kung Fu Panda 4 as well, while next Friday, there would be Crew. To still continue to find audience attention on a continued basis is commendable indeed and only shows that the audiences have lapped up the Ajay Devgn and Madhavan starrer.
