CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Sant Hirdaram Girls’ College, Bhopal is extremely proud to announce that Assistant Professor Dr. Shanta Belani from the Department of Chemistry has been granted a patent for her research on the diuretic properties and extraction method of the compounds Benzbromarone and Sarsimaritin derived from the leaves of Barleria prionitis.

Her research focuses on the identification and extraction of potent diuretic compounds from Barleria prionitis, a traditional medicinal plant, which may prove beneficial in treating conditions such as fluid retention in the body. This study presents a novel contribution to the fields of natural product chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences, blending scientific innovation with healthcare applications.
