CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The “SHINE 2025 – Open School Day Outreach” program will be organized at the ICMR – Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) in Bhopal. This event is being held simultaneously across all ICMR institutions nationwide at the initiative of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi.
The one-day program aims to introduce students from grades 9 to 12 to career opportunities in biomedical research and to encourage scientific thinking among them.
The event will begin with a recorded message from ICMR Director General Dr. Rajiv Bahl, followed by an address to the students by Dr. Manisha Srivastava, Officiating Director of ICMR–BMHRC.
To familiarize students with ICMR and the institute’s activities, posters and educational videos will be presented. Students will also be given a guided tour of laboratories and the opportunity to interact with scientists and medical professionals.
Around 300 students are expected to participate from Government Higher Secondary School Sandeepani Vidyalaya, Nishatpura and Sardar Patel Government Higher Secondary School, Karond.
Speaking about the program, Dr. Manisha Srivastava shared that through SHINE 2025, ICMR and BMHRC aim to bring science beyond textbooks, allowing students to experience its real-world applications and inspire them to pursue research in the future.
