CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal/ New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited his parliamentary constituency Raisen and participated in several programs. As part of the Seva Pakhwada, he took part in a cleanliness drive in Avantika Colony and planted 75 saplings. He also inaugurated “Namo Vatika” in Sanchi and participated in a blood donation camp.

Raisen became the first district in India to unanimously pass the proposal of “One Nation-One Election.” Addressing public representatives and citizens, Chouhan stated that frequent elections are a major obstacle to the nation’s progress, and therefore, the Constitution should be amended to conduct Lok Sabha and Assembly elections simultaneously. He added that the district’s proposal will be sent to the President and emphasized that this step will reduce casteism, linguistic divisions, and unnecessary expenditure.

During the program, Chouhan also discussed GST reforms, highlighting that GST on tractors and agricultural equipment has been reduced from 18% to 5%. This reduction will lower tractor prices by ₹23,000 to ₹63,000, providing direct relief to farmers.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged people to pledge to adopt Swadeshi (indigenous products), stating that prioritizing local products strengthens the national economy. As part of the cleanliness campaign, he cleaned the temple premises and appealed to citizens to dedicate 100 days a year and 2 hours a week to cleanliness. He emphasized that cleanliness is not only the responsibility of municipalities but the duty of the entire society.

On this occasion, he also mentioned Lord Ram’s ancient techniques, Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Pokhran nuclear tests, and India’s progress toward becoming a strong nation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

The visit focused on cleanliness, public awareness, Swadeshi promotion, and GST relief for farmers, while Raisen made history by supporting the “One Nation-One Election” initiative.
