CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Union Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan distributed sanction letters to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Gyaraspur, part of the Ganjbasoda Assembly constituency. On this occasion, he also performed the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking) and inauguration of several development projects.
While addressing the gathering, Minister Chouhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to ensuring that no poor person lives in a kutcha (temporary) house. The government is continuously working to fulfill this resolve.
He informed that over 2 crore permanent houses have been built in rural areas so far, and more than 27,700 houses have been sanctioned in the Ganjbasoda Assembly constituency alone. He added that several changes have been made to the PM Awas Yojana, now allowing even two-wheeler owners, farmers with limited land, and individuals earning up to ₹15,000 per month to benefit from the scheme. Beneficiaries can now add their names through a self-survey using a mobile app.
Additionally, Minister Chouhan inspected the modernization work at Vidisha Railway Station and discussed facility enhancements with the officials. Emphasizing the importance of bringing scientific research in agriculture to the fields, he announced the launch of the “Lab to Land” campaign, where scientists will guide farmers on advanced farming techniques.
This program marks a significant step towards fulfilling Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India.
