CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies:
Shravasti police have recovered 76 missing mobile phones in a major action carried out with technical assistance. The total value of these mobiles is said to be around Rs 22.40 lakh. Police handed the recovered phones to their rightful owners, bringing relief to people who had been troubled for a long time after losing their mobiles.
Police used the central government’s CEIR portal and IMEI tracking technology to search for the mobile phones. Through these tools, information related to the location and use of the missing mobiles was gathered, helping police trace them.
After getting their mobile phones back, the owners expressed satisfaction with the police action. Police have appealed to people to immediately register a complaint if a mobile phone is lost or stolen and to also report it on the CEIR portal. This can help track the mobile phone and prevent its misuse.
