CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The prestigious national ‘Centenary Award–2024’ of the Madhya Bharat Hindi Sahitya Samiti was awarded to Shri Santosh Chaubey, senior poet-storyteller, Director of Vishwarang, and Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal.
At a grand and dignified ceremony organized by the Madhya Bharat Hindi Sahitya Samiti in Indore, Shri Santosh Chaubey was honored with the prestigious ‘National Centenary Award–2024’ by presenting a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, a citation, a shawl, and a coconut. Notably, the award was conferred by the Chief Guest Madhav Kaushik, President of the Sahitya Akademi, Delhi, Indore’s Lok Sabha MP Shankar Lalwani, Chairman of the Madhya Bharat Hindi Sahitya Samiti, senior litterateur Satyanarayan Sattan, and the Prime Minister of the Samiti, Arvind Jawlekar.
On this occasion, renowned litterateur, former President of the Sahitya Akademi, and Padma Shri awardee Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari (Gorakhpur) was also honored with the ‘Centenary Award–2024’.
Jawahar Karnawat, Director of the Tagore International Hindi Center, Vinay Upadhyay, Director of the Tagore World Art and Culture Center, and Ms. Jyoti Raghuvanshi, National Coordinator of the Vanamali Srijan Peeth, also felicitated Shri Santosh Chaubey with shawls and garlands. On this occasion, a large number of litterateurs and literature enthusiasts, including Padma Singh, Hareram Vajpayee, Pushpendra Singh, Sadashiv Kautuk, Krishna Kumar Asthana, and Ghanshyam Yadav, attended and contributed to the event with their creative presence.
Notably, poet-storyteller, novelist, editor, and translator Santosh Chaubey is known globally for his innovative literary projects and creativity. He established the international ‘Vishwarang’ festival in 2019 in Bhopal with the aim of promoting the Hindi language and Indian culture, which now has over 50 member countries. Recently, he laid the groundwork for the global expansion of Hindi through a grand ‘Vishwarang’ event in Mauritius.
He was recently honored with the ‘World Hindi Summit Award–2024’ in Singapore and the prestigious international ‘Bharat Gaurav Award–2024’ in France. Prior to this, he was also awarded the ‘Vatayan U.K. International Summit Award 2023’ in London and the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award–2023’ by a renowned institute in the United States.
Director Santosh Chaubey has received the Dushyant Kumar Award from the Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Parishad for poetry (‘Kahin Aur Sach Honge Sapne’), the Spandan Criticism Award for criticism (‘Kala Ki Sangat’), the award from the Madhya Pradesh Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti for translation (‘Moscow Diary’), and the Shailesh Matiyani and International Valley of Words Award for his novel (‘Jaltarang’). For his overall literary contributions, he has been honored with the National Dushyant and Shivmangal Singh Suman Awards, among others.
For the prestigious ‘Centenary Award–2024’, Director Santosh Chaubey has been congratulated by Vishwarang, Tagore International Literature and Arts Festival, Vishwarang Secretariat, Tagore International Hindi Center, Research Center for Diaspora Indian Literature and Culture, Tagore World Art and Culture Center, Rabindranath Tagore University, Scope Global Skills University, C.V. Raman University Bilaspur, Khandwa, Vaishali, AISECT University Hazaribagh, AISECT Publication, Vanamali Srijan Peeth, all Vanamali Srijan Centers, and literary, arts, and cultural institutions.
