CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: This year, the sowing of Kharif crops in India reached a historic figure of 110.46 million hectares. Notably, pulses cultivation saw a 7.79% increase, with the sowing of pigeon pea (tur) reaching 4.65 million hectares. The favorable monsoon facilitated smooth sowing, but the recent delay in rainfall could impact the harvest, raising the possibility of price increases.
The increase in pulse cultivation is expected to bring stability to the market, while experts are emphasizing the need for climate-resilient farming in the future.
