CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal/ Indore: Water Resources Minister Tulsi Ram Silawat Directs Swift Completion of Indore Bypass Flyovers and Road Improvements
Indore: Water Resources Minister Tulsi Ram Silawat has instructed the officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to expedite the completion of the Arjun Boroda, Jhalaria, and Kanadia flyovers under construction on the Indore Bypass. In addition, he emphasized prioritizing road widening, service road repairs, and restoration of non-functional streetlights to ensure smooth traffic flow and eliminate traffic congestion.
Minister Silawat held a meeting at his office with the chief engineers of NHAI and Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) and other departmental officials. Attendees included S.K. Singh, Regional Officer of NHAI, Rakesh Jain, Chief Engineer of MPRDC, senior engineers, and other concerned officers.
The minister instructed that the works be completed within the prescribed timelines to prevent inconvenience to the public. After discussions with the officials, deadlines were set: the Arjun Boroda flyover is expected to be completed and operational by January 15, 2026, the Jhalaria flyover by January 30, 2026, and the Kanadia (MR 10) flyover by March 31, 2026. Service road repairs and asphalt work on both sides of the flyovers will be completed before Diwali, and streetlights along the entire route will be installed within 10 days.
Minister Silawat also directed NHAI to coordinate with local administration and police to deploy marshals to ensure traffic remains uninterrupted during construction.
It is noteworthy that the service road between Jhalaria and Arjun Boroda is currently heavily damaged, causing long traffic jams and discomfort to local residents due to dust and poor lighting conditions. The road improvements aim to address these issues and enhance commuter safety and convenience.
