CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat met Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Minister Silawat handed over a letter to the Union Minister requesting forest and environmental clearance for eight irrigation projects in the state.

The Union Minister immediately agreed and directed the concerned officials to initiate the necessary actions.

Minister Silawat expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav for their support.

Minister Silawat informed the Union Minister that the Madhya Pradesh Water Resources Department is committed to fulfilling the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav — to make agriculture a profitable venture and to ensure irrigation facilities reach every farmer’s field in the state.

The irrigation projects in Madhya Pradesh that have now received forest and environmental clearance from the Centre include:

Maa Ratangarh Multipurpose Project, Dabra (Datia)

Lower Orr Major Project, Ashoknagar and Shivpuri

Chentikhedi Project, Sheopur

Munjhiri Major Project, Sheopur

Kopra Medium Irrigation Project, Sagar

Chhindwara Complex Balancing Reservoir, Chhindwara

Sonkhedi Minor Irrigation Project, Barwani

Damamkheda Minor Irrigation Scheme, Khargone
