CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: New Delhi. Gold and silver prices rose in the domestic bullion market this week. Silver prices increased by about ₹7,988 per kilogram, while gold became costlier by ₹1,789 per 10 grams. Movement in the global market and buying by investors are being cited among the key reasons behind the rise in precious metals.

On 17 September, gold prices had recorded an increase of about ₹1,200 per 10 grams. In the international market too, gold rose 1.3 percent to about $4,348 per ounce, while silver increased 1.5 percent to about $64.61 per ounce.

According to market experts, gold and silver prices have continued to see fluctuations in recent days. Investors are keeping a close watch on global economic conditions, the movement of the dollar, interest rates and geopolitical developments. These factors affect demand and prices for precious metals.

Earlier, in the first week of September, gold and silver had also recorded a sharp decline. According to IBJA data, 24-carat gold had become cheaper by ₹4,694 and silver by up to ₹8,436 per kilogram during that week. After this, the market again witnessed an upward trend.

Experts say buyers of gold and silver should consider price trends and their purchasing needs instead of looking only at a single day’s rates. While buying jewellery, it is also important to check purity, hallmarking and making charges.
