Nagoya. Indian badminton star PV Sindhu’s women’s singles campaign at the Asian Games 2026 ended with a quarterfinal defeat. Sindhu lost 21-11, 18-21, 10-21 to China’s Chen Yufei. Sindhu won the opening game comfortably, but Chen fought back to win the match.
After the defeat, Sindhu shared her emotions on social media. She said she was saddened by the result and kept thinking about the three points that had brought her very close to closing out the match in the second game. She also said her team was already working on the areas that needed improvement. Referring to her fourth Asian Games campaign, Sindhu said the journey of playing for India for 12 years since 2014 was a matter of pride. She made it clear that one painful result could not define such a long journey and that she wanted to continue playing.
Sindhu also questioned the tournament’s packed schedule. She said she had to play three matches within about 18 hours and, after playing late into the night, had to return to the court again after very little time. According to her, the schedule affected her physical preparation and recovery.
