For decades, India prioritized peaceful tolerance and diplomatic agreements in response to cross-border terrorism. However, last night’s speech by the Prime Minister on the ‘Sindoor Campaign’ marked a decisive break from that tradition.

“Nuclear blackmail will not work”—this single sentence made it clear that silence will no longer be the response, nor will threats be met with passivity.

The Prime Minister described the precise strikes on strongholds from Bahawalpur to Muridke not merely as a military achievement but as a symbol of national resolve. This declaration underlines that curbing terrorism is no longer solely the responsibility of the Ministry of Defence but a demand of the entire society. At the same time, it is also true that the limits of victory on the battlefield are closely linked to diplomatic and economic decisions.

The courage behind this new policy is unprecedented, but long-term stability will come only when we strengthen not just our defense, but also the bridges of dialogue. Firm steps against terror are essential, but to reinforce the foundations of peace, prudent partnerships with regional allies and engagement on global platforms are equally vital.

‘Sindoor Campaign’ has sent a warning to the terrorists—now the real test will be whether we can maintain restraint and coordination even after victory.
