CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Mumbai. The deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Maharashtra has been extended. The revised voter list in the state will now be released on November 30. The change in the timeline will give officials and voters associated with the revision process additional time to complete the necessary work.
Under SIR, the names included in the voter list and the recorded details are verified. The aim is to make the list more accurate and to ensure that eligible voters’ names are included. The process may include work such as registration of new voters, correction of details of voters who have changed location, and scrutiny of records related to deceased or ineligible voters.
Voters will get additional time after the extension of the deadline to check their names and other information. Those whose details contain errors, or whose names are not recorded in the list, will be able to apply for corrections and registration according to the prescribed procedure.
According to the revised schedule, the voter list will be released on November 30. The list will be important from the standpoint of transparency and accuracy in the election process. Voters are advised to check their names and details after the final list is released.
