CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A two-day workshop on social media proficiency and management skills began at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU), Bhopal. The event is jointly organized by the University and the Public Media Tech Foundation.

The inaugural session commenced with floral tributes to the portraits of Goddess Saraswati, Bharat Mata, and Makhanlal Chaturvedi.

Dr. B.K. Kuthiala, former Vice-Chancellor of the University and keynote speaker, stated that communication is the essence of social media. Today, it has become a major source of interactivity and effectiveness.

Chief Guest Manoj Srivastava, senior litterateur and former administrative officer, said that this is the era of algorithm power, where social media influences every sphere of life. He emphasized the need to understand data colonialism and the dynamics of social media.

Vice Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari, who presided over the session, discussed the positive potential of social media and cited the role of social platforms in preserving Udaipur’s heritage. He stressed that if factual and public interest content is shared effectively on social media, significant changes are possible.

In the second session, subject expert Shalabh Upadhyay gave a comprehensive overview of social media trends. Workshop convener Lokendra Singh spoke about the global use and opportunities of social media.

In a session on mobile editing, Sudhanshu Singh explained the intricacies of creative video production. Prof. Vishwas Chauhan discussed social media laws and case studies, linking them to Vedic perspectives on communication.

On this occasion, Registrar Avinash Vajpayee extended a vote of thanks. Participants also created innovative videos as part of the workshop.
