CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Sonika Namdev, a student from the first batch (2021-2023) of Tagore National School of Drama at Rabindranath Tagore University, has been selected for the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi. Sonika completed her M.A. in Dramatics from the Tagore National School of Drama at Rabindranath Tagore University. She hails from Tikamgarh. During her time at Tagore School of Drama, she diligently and earnestly completed her training. During this period, she played significant roles in plays such as Visarjan, Adhantar, Lower Depths, Matigari, Kavitayon ka Rangmanch, Dillagi, and Ravunni. She also actively participated in training workshops on Kalaripayattu, Kathakali, Chhau, and others.

Rabindranath Tagore University’s Chancellor Mr. Santosh Chaubey, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi Vats, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajni Kant, Registrar Dr. Vijay Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sangeeta Johri, and Director of the School of Drama Manoj Nair have congratulated her on this achievement.

The Tagore National School of Drama is a cultural initiative of Rabindranath Tagore University. Under the guidance of the University’s Chancellor, Mr. Santosh Chaubey, the School of Drama was established to foster young people’s interest in performing arts and theater and to encourage it as an entrepreneurial pursuit. The school offers a PG Diploma in Dramatic Arts and an M.A. in Dramatics.
