CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Did Sonu Nigam Mock Salman Khan’s Singing? Viral Video Explained
A video about Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s singing went viral on social media, appearing to show noted singer Sonu Nigam reacting to Salman Khan’s song “Main Hoon Hero Tera” and mocking him. However, Sonu Nigam has clarified the truth behind the viral video, saying it was edited and presented in the wrong context.
In the viral clip, Salman Khan is shown singing “Main Hoon Hero Tera” on television. A portion of an old video of Sonu Nigam is then added, in which he is seen placing his hand on his forehead and reacting emotionally. The video led to an impression on social media that Sonu was taking a dig at Salman’s singing.
Sonu Nigam shared the video on Instagram and clarified that his reaction had been misused. He said the original video was recorded while he was reacting to Pakistani child singer Hadiya Hashmi’s performance.
The old video is said to be from 2020, when Sonu reacted to Hadiya Hashmi’s performance of “Bol Hu.” At the time, he had praised the young singer’s voice and presentation. Singer Anish Mathew also clarified, in the context of the viral clip, that Sonu’s original reaction was for Hadiya’s performance.
The video went viral at a time when social media was also discussing the credits for “Main Hoon Hero Tera.” The edited video brought the matter further into the spotlight. After Sonu’s clarification, it became clear that linking his reaction in the viral clip to Salman Khan’s song was a wrong context.
