One-Day Dengue Awareness Workshop Held at SOS Balgram by District Malaria Office
A one-day workshop was organized at SOS Balgram by the District Malaria Office with the objective of preventing and spreading awareness about dengue.
On this occasion, District Malaria Officer Smrita Namdev informed the entire staff of Balgram about the symptoms, prevention, and control measures of dengue.
In the session, Director Namdev provided detailed information on the identification and destruction of Aedes mosquito larvae.
She emphasized that to prevent dengue, it is important to:
Keep the surroundings clean
Cover open water containers
Make children wear full-sleeved clothing
Have them sleep under mosquito nets

During the workshop, the malaria department team conducted larval surveys and blood smear collection in the Balgram premises.
To promote biological control, Gambusia (larvae-eating fish) were introduced into the permanent water sources within the campus under the guidance of Director Namdev.
Present at the workshop were Prerna Gupta, In-charge of SOS Balgram, Ritu Patel, Nursing In-charge, and other staff members.
From the Malaria Office, Vector-Borne Disease Control Advisor Ruchi Silakari, Malaria Inspector Urmila Singh, Zone 13 In-charge Arun Narwaria, Zone 14 In-charge Mohar Singh, and the malaria team effectively carried out anti-larval activities across the campus.
