Ghazipur. Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Afzal Ansari from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow after his health suddenly deteriorated. After his condition worsened late Friday night, family members took him to Lucknow by ambulance. He is being treated under the supervision of specialist doctors in the hospital’s gastroenterology department.
According to media reports, Afzal Ansari had been suffering from fever, cold and cough-related problems for the past three to four days. On Friday, he reportedly developed pain below the chest and in the upper part of the abdomen, along with repeated vomiting. After his discomfort increased, family members took him to Lucknow for better treatment. He was admitted to the hospital at around 12 at night.
Reports also said that Afzal Ansari had tried a home remedy of ghee and jaggery to get relief from cough, after which vomiting was reported. However, there has been no official medical confirmation of any link between this home remedy and the deterioration in his health. It, therefore, cannot be considered the definite cause of his illness.
Afzal Ansari’s nephew and Mau Sadar MLA Abbas Ansari shared information about his hospitalisation through social media. He appealed to supporters and well-wishers to pray for Afzal Ansari’s speedy recovery.
According to the hospital management, the MP’s tests and treatment are continuing under the supervision of specialist doctors. Detailed information about his condition will become clear only after test reports and an official medical bulletin. Afzal Ansari is the Samajwadi Party MP from the Ghazipur Lok Sabha seat. After news of his hospitalisation emerged, concern has been seen among supporters and people associated with political circles.
