CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: In view of continuous complaints from rail passengers and to ensure passenger safety, convenience and uninterrupted travel in railway premises and trains, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Bhopal division, launched a special intensive drive. The campaign was carried out by all RPF posts in the division under the guidance of DRM Pankaj Tyagi and the direction of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Abhishek.
During the drive, extensive checking and surveillance were conducted at railway stations and in trains to prevent activities such as unnecessarily troubling passengers, demanding money, forcible collection and causing disruption during travel.
As part of the action, in the first five months of 2026, a total of 346 transgender persons were apprehended. Lawful action was taken against them under relevant sections of the Railway Act and fines totaling Rs 2,15,735 were recovered. In May alone, action was taken against 39 transgender persons and Rs 29,180 was recovered as fine.

The RPF has directed all posts in the division to maintain constant watch in such cases, conduct regular checking drives and ensure quick and effective action on complaints received from passengers. The railway administration said it is committed to providing passengers with a safe, convenient and fear-free travel environment.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria said such special drives against activities affecting passenger safety and convenience will continue. The RPF also appealed to passengers to immediately report any inconvenience, forcible demand for money or suspicious activity to Railway Helpline 139 or the nearest RPF personnel so that prompt action can be taken.
