CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Breastfeeding Week, a special quiz was organized for mothers at the SMART Unit operated under the Department of Pediatrics at AIIMS. This event was celebrated in collaboration with the SMART Unit and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. On this occasion, Prof. Ajay Singh of AIIMS said, “Breastfeeding is the best start to a child’s life. I am pleased that AIIMS is committed to spreading awareness on this important subject. Initiatives like the quiz organized during Breastfeeding Week help provide correct information to mothers. Our goal is to educate all mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding and empower them to provide a healthy future for their children.”
Dr. Shikha Malik, head of the Department of Pediatrics, said, “Breastfeeding Week is a crucial initiative to encourage mothers and educate them about the significant health benefits of breastfeeding, which empowers both the child and the mother.”
The event included a quiz based on the benefits of breastfeeding, along with the distribution of breastfeeding-related pamphlets to the participants. Various topics were covered, including the nutritional value of breast milk, proper breastfeeding techniques, and common challenges faced by breastfeeding mothers. Through this initiative, AIIMS has taken an important step towards promoting breastfeeding and empowering mothers.
