CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India ePress / ITDC News Bhopal: A special three-day training program on managing women-led enterprises was inaugurated at the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal. The program is aimed at empowering members of women’s self-help groups (SHGs) and fostering future women entrepreneurs. The participants include a diverse group of women from Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

The inaugural session was chaired by IIFM Director K. Ravichandran, who, in his welcome speech, highlighted key government initiatives promoting women entrepreneurship. He discussed programs like the MUDRA Loan Scheme, Stand-Up India, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), which collectively provide opportunities for women to establish and expand their businesses. Ravichandran also emphasized IIFM’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs through targeted capacity-building programs and assured continued support for such initiatives.

Program directors Paribhasha Sharma and Anupama Singh outlined the objectives of the three-day training curriculum. C.P. Kala, Chairperson (MDP), IIFM, highlighted the institute’s dedication to developing leadership in social and environmental sectors through various capacity-building initiatives.

Program Highlights

The training program focuses on a comprehensive range of topics essential for building sustainable businesses, including:

  • Understanding managerial roles and responsibilities
  • Accounting for agribusiness managers
  • Leadership development
  • Project planning and management
  • Finance for agribusinesses
  • IT/MIS for agro-processing units
  • Operations and quality assurance in agribusiness
  • Managerial communication skills and marketing for agribusiness

These subjects aim to enable participants to better manage and expand their self-help groups, enhance leadership skills, and contribute meaningfully to India’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
