CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India ePress / ITDC News Bhopal: Various activities were organised on the third day of Yoga Week being held at ICMR-Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC), Bhopal, on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2026.
First, patients in the Pulmonary Medicine Ward and the Ophthalmology Department, along with their family members, were informed about yoga practices and pranayama useful according to their illnesses. This was followed by a special yoga session for the institute’s nursing students, paramedical students and PG medical students. Yoga trainer Sushil Singh guided participants through various yogasanas, pranayama and meditation techniques, and highlighted the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

BMHRC Acting Director Manisha Shrivastava said that regular yoga practice helps improve physical and mental health. She said yoga practices adopted according to the nature of a disease can support the treatment process and improve quality of life. She added that various yoga and awareness activities are being organised at the institute for different groups under Yoga Week till June 21. The purpose of these programmes is to make yoga a part of daily life and increase awareness about physical and mental health. Continuous efforts are being made to extend the benefits of yoga to the institute’s employees, students and patients.
