CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Several SpiceJet flights at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi were affected on Saturday because of operational issues. Some flights were delayed, while information also emerged about the cancellation of some flights. The disruption left several passengers at the airport distressed.
Delhi Airport, in an advisory issued on social media, expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers. According to the airport administration, its teams are continuously coordinating with SpiceJet and other stakeholders so that necessary assistance can be provided to affected passengers. Ground teams at the airport remained engaged in helping passengers and coordinating with airline representatives.
The disruption comes at a time when several problems have surfaced in recent days regarding SpiceJet’s flight operations. Earlier, passengers had protested at the airport after two SpiceJet flights from Delhi to Dubai were delayed by 19 to 29 hours. At that time, the airline had said the flights were affected due to operational reasons and because an aircraft was grounded.
For now, Delhi Airport has appealed to passengers to contact the airline for the latest status of their respective flights and to seek assistance from staff present at the airport. No immediate detailed official statement from SpiceJet was available on Saturday’s current disruption.
