CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal’s prestigious NAAC A Plus grade Shri Sathya Sai Women’s College and Women’s Law College, Bhopal, came alive with joy today. The occasion was a freshers’ party organised to welcome and felicitate the newly admitted students, held with dignity and grandeur.
The programme began with garlanding the portrait of Maa Saraswati and lighting the ceremonial lamp. Archaeologist Pooja Saxena, president of the alumni association Srijan, was present as the special guest. The jury comprised Bhavna Mehta, lecturer at PM Shri Government Maharani Laxmibai Girls Higher Secondary School, Bhopal; P. Geeta of U.T.D. Government Higher Secondary School, Professor Colony, Bhopal; and Dhanpriya Kolte, teacher at Raj Vedanta School, Bhopal. College director Pratibha Singh, principal Renu Mishra and Law College principal Anju Bajpayee were also present. The new students were warmly welcomed with a shower of flowers.

In her address, special guest Pooja Saxena said college life is a golden opportunity for learning, building confidence and shaping personality. She urged students to move ahead with discipline and dedication and achieve their life goals. College director Pratibha Singh, while blessing the students, said discipline, punctuality and respect are the identity of the college. She said true success can be achieved only by adopting these values, because any education acquired without character remains incomplete. Principal Renu Mishra said in her address that a golden chapter of the students’ lives was beginning from today, and expressed confidence that they would bring glory to the institution through their talent.

Law College principal Anju Bajpayee said students should take part not only in studies but also in sports, art and cultural activities. She said every platform in the college is meant to refine their personality, and urged them to remain curious, ask questions and keep learning continuously.

The main attraction of the programme was the cultural performances by senior and newly admitted students. At some points, melodious songs filled the hall, while at others, graceful dances showcased the students’ multifaceted talent. Students from almost all six faculties of the college – Arts, Law, Management, Science, B.Com./B.S.F.I. and P.G. – were present at the programme. On the basis of the new students’ cultural presentations and their performances in different rounds, the jury awarded the titles of Miss Smita, Miss Samaira, Miss Daksha and Miss Suvesha to students.
The freshers for 2026-27 were Neelam Akotkar from the Arts faculty, Neer Nandwanshi from the Law faculty, Anaya Shukla from the Management faculty, Medhavi Mishra from the Science faculty, Muskan Pandey from B.Com./B.S.F.I., and Namrata Kherkar from P.G. Science. Student union in-charge Shobhana Srivastava, Roopa Guhanandi, Anuradha Singh, Anita Asaiya, all faculty members of the college and a large number of students were present. Naina Dwivedi and Nehal Guruve, B.A. LL.B. second-year students, conducted the programme.
