The Amaravati-based university has also been reported as the top-ranked institution in Andhra Pradesh in the latest edition.

The THE World University Rankings 2027 covers 2,297 universities across 118 countries and territories and evaluates institutions across areas including teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook. Institutions outside the top 200 are generally placed in ranking bands rather than given an individual numerical position.

SRM University-AP recorded an International Outlook score of 58.5, which the university said placed it fifth among Indian institutions on this indicator. Its Research Quality score stood at 55.4, according to the university.

Established less than a decade ago, the university said its debut marks an important milestone in its development as a research-oriented institution. It has academic programmes spanning engineering and sciences, liberal arts and business, along with dedicated institutes focused on artificial intelligence and quantum technology.

Pro-Chancellor Dr P. Sathyanarayanan said the recognition reflects the university’s focus on academic quality, research and international engagement. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar said the ranking provides an international benchmark for the institution’s future academic and research development.

The university said it plans to build on the ranking by strengthening research activities, academic collaborations and international partnerships.
