CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Chennai. DMK chief MK Stalin has targeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay over the controversy linked to the Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Stalin alleged that Vijay is not speaking publicly on the issue of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and matters related to the Election Commission, which are being raised across the country.

Addressing an election meeting in Dharapuram, Stalin asked Vijay why he was silent when several political parties across the country were speaking on the issue. He asked whether Chief Minister Vijay was afraid of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Stalin also said that parties in alliance with TVK were demanding that Vijay speak on the issue.

Stalin also accused Vijay of not behaving in keeping with the dignity of the chief minister’s post. He also commented on Vijay’s recent statements in the Assembly and his conduct. However, all these allegations and political claims were made by Stalin.

The controversy has surfaced at a time when by-elections are scheduled on October 6 for the Dharapuram and Maduranthakam Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. Both major political camps are active in the election campaign, and issues linked to the SIR and the Election Commission have also become part of the political debate.
