CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the Birth and Death Registration Amendment Act 2023, a birth certificate will be mandatory for every child. This certificate will be required for school admission, Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, driving license, etc. The birth certificate will serve as a legal document for the place of birth and date of birth.
Based on the amended Act 2023, a new portal has been developed under the direction of the Registrar General of India and the Chief Registrar of Madhya Pradesh for issuing birth and death certificates. Through this portal, the general public can apply online and receive the certificates directly via email. The portal is user-friendly and very simple to use. The data provided by the applicant on the portal will also be securely stored. Detailed information about the Birth and Death Registration Amendment Act 2023 and the newly developed CRS portal has been shared with all registrars, deputy registrars, and government and non-government hospitals.
