CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The state-level main Independence Day programme will be held at Lal Parade Ground from 9:00 am on August 15. Divisional Commissioner Karmveer Sharma chaired a review meeting on Friday in the conference hall of the Commissioner’s Office to assess preparations for the programme. Joint Commissioner Development Dr. Vinod Yadav, Seventh Battalion Commandant Hitesh Chaudhary, and officers from the Municipal Corporation, police, PWD, health, electricity and all other concerned departments were present at the meeting.

The Divisional Commissioner directed all departments to ensure that the ceremony is conducted in a dignified and orderly manner. He instructed officials to complete arrangements for security, traffic management, cleanliness, safe drinking water, seating, first aid and other facilities properly and on time. Special attention should be given to schoolchildren attending the programme and police personnel participating in the parade. The Divisional Commissioner also directed that arrangements be made to respectfully invite eminent citizens, freedom fighters and other distinguished guests to the programme.

Special arrangements in view of rain

In view of the monsoon, Sharma issued special instructions to ensure that the programme is not disrupted even in case of rain. Officials have been asked to make adequate arrangements for waterproof tents, additional sheds, drainage and prevention of mud on the ground. Alternative arrangements should also be kept ready for the convenience of spectators and participants.

Patriotic cultural programme in the evening

A patriotic cultural programme will be organised at Ravindra Bhavan on the evening of Independence Day. The Divisional Commissioner directed that all arrangements related to the programme be carried out in an excellent manner.
