By staying fit, we can contribute to the country’s development. These were the words of Union Minister for Labour and Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, at the inauguration of the “Fit India Club” held in Bhopal.
He said that to create a prosperous nation and healthy citizens, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the ‘Fit India’ campaign. Initiatives like the Fit India Club will play a crucial role in advancing the Fit India Movement. Dr. Mandaviya praised the leadership in Madhya Pradesh for establishing the Fit India Club. He highlighted that the Prime Minister, in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, encouraged cycling on Sundays to stay fit. He urged everyone to dedicate an hour every Sunday to cycling for fitness.
Dr. Mandaviya further emphasized that if India aspires to host the Olympics in 2036, the country must rank among the top 10 in international sports. To achieve this, robust efforts are underway. He mentioned that programs like Khelo India are promoting sports among children aged 9 to 15 years. He called upon the youth to contribute to the nation’s development and fulfill their responsibilities in making India a developed nation during the Amrit Kaal.
The program was also addressed by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who stated that the ‘Fit India’ campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is not only realizing the dreams of youth but also enhancing India’s global prestige. Vishwas Sarang, Minister of Cooperation, Sports, and Youth Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh, also addressed the gathering.
Notably, in the presence of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and other dignitaries, the first phase of Madhya Pradesh’s inaugural ‘Fit India Club’ was inaugurated, and the second phase was initiated. Additionally, kits for state players participating in the National Games in Uttarakhand were unveiled. The occasion also saw the launch of the ‘Khelo Badho Abhiyan’ with a single click, along with inaugurations and foundation stone ceremonies for various sports infrastructures in the state.
