CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In line with the intent of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge Manoj Kumar Shrivastava, and in the presence of Sunit Agrawal, Secretary/Judge, District Legal Services Authority, Bhopal, ISKCON preachers Dharmendra Krishna, Giridhari Govind Das, Ambujaksha Das and Brihad Mridang Das delivered lectures on stress management at Central Jail Bhopal.
They explained how mental disorders can lead to physical weakness, illness, and imbalance in social and family life. They said unnecessary disputes arise and, due to anger, rage, greed and the desire for gain, even a simple person may commit a crime, become rejected by family and society, and end up in jail or imprisonment. They said people should stay away from and protect themselves against flaws such as anger, greed and ego.
The ISKCON preachers informed jail inmates about ways to keep the mind calm. They also explained methods of maintaining mental peace through bhajan and kirtan so that the adverse effects of stress can be avoided.
Along with this, a legal awareness camp was organised for the prisoners. During the programme, Sunit Agrawal, Judge/Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bhopal, inspected the jail. He also obtained information from inmates about the availability of advocates in their cases and explained the provisions related to free legal aid.
Additional Superintendent M.S. Maravi, Jailor Dinesh Muvel, Asht Kon in-charge, staff members of the jail administration and around 800 inmates attended the stress management programme at Central Jail Bhopal.
