CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A crucial meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held in Bhopal under the chairmanship of Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre, Chairman of the Supreme Court’s Road Safety Committee and former judge. In this meeting, he directed the preparation of a time-bound three-month action plan for road safety and traffic improvement and emphasized its serious implementation.

Justice Sapre stated that the district administration, police, municipal corporation, and other concerned departments must make coordinated efforts with complete dedication. Expressing concern over the deaths caused by road accidents, he stressed the strict enforcement of helmet and seat belt usage, strict action against drunk driving, promotion of public transport, and mandatory implementation of driving tests, vehicle fitness checks, insurance, and licensing.

Present in the meeting were Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh, Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra, Municipal Commissioner, CEOs of Smart City and District Panchayat, among other officials. The meeting also reviewed the district’s accident-prone black spots, enforcement actions, and public awareness campaigns.

Justice Sapre urged all government employees to follow traffic rules and set an example for others. He appealed to the media and large institutions for their cooperation, describing road safety as a collective responsibility.

This initiative is considered a major step towards making Bhopal a model city for safe traffic.
