CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Incubation Department of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, Bhopal organized a program for students on the topic of Legal and Ethical Steps in Startups. The objective of the program was to provide students with knowledge of the legal and ethical processes involved in starting a startup.
During the program, Professor of Practice B.B. Sharma addressed the students, emphasizing that starting any startup requires proper planning, awareness of government schemes, and understanding legal procedures. He provided detailed information about government policies designed to support new startups and the benefits they offer.
To illustrate his points, Sharma cited successful startups such as Amazon and Blinkit, explaining how a good idea can be transformed into a large business through hard work and low-risk strategies. He also discussed the concept of risk in startups, stating, “The same principles apply in business and war,” highlighting the importance of proper planning, patience, and timely decision-making.

Sharma provided students with insights on legal topics such as labor law and copyright, explaining in simple terms the difference between law and ethics. He emphasized that both are essential for the success of any business and stressed the importance of transparency in business.
He gave the example of Sagar Garage, a startup in Bhopal, showing how a small startup can grow into a large business through hard work and proper planning. He also cited the example of youth in Gujarat, noting that many young people there prefer entrepreneurship and startups over traditional jobs from an early age.
Sharma discussed opportunities in the education sector, highlighting that students with strong skills in science and English can start education-focused startups. He explained that four decades ago, individuals with strong academic skills often started tutoring and coaching businesses. Today, the availability of digital and online platforms makes it even easier to launch startups in education, provided the entrepreneur has a solid grasp of the subject.
The program was attended by Bharti Sharma, Advisor of the SIKA Department, university officials, and students of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University. At the conclusion of the program, Shuchi Mishra, Director of the Incubation Department, expressed gratitude to all participants.
