CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal organized outdoor activities for emerging students. In this sequence, an educational trip for class 10th and 11th students of Sagar Public School was conducted. Dr. Ashwani Tandon, Associate Dean (Academic), mentioned that this was an exceptional experience for the students, especially for a student of life sciences, who gained deeper insights into concepts of human anatomy.
The students’ journey commenced from the Anatomy Museum, where they carefully observed various preserved human body parts. They toured different laboratories of translational medicine and viewed sophisticated equipment used by doctors for diagnosing various diseases. They learned about processes like DNA extraction from blood, homogenizer, gel electrophoresis equipment, UV transilluminator, and PCR machine (Polymerase Chain Reaction machine). The intricate phases involved in PCR were extensively explained.
Subsequently, the students had the privilege of meeting with AIIMS’ Executive Director, Ajay Singh, and engaging in an interactive session. Through this discussion, they gained insights into building careers in various fields related to science. Dr. Ajay Singh encouraged further exploration in radiology and medicine through this program. All students expressed feeling extremely fortunate for the opportunity to visit AIIMS, and they extended heartfelt gratitude to their school’s educator Shikha Ma’am, principal, and the doctors at AIIMS Bhopal, particularly Dr. Rupinder Kaur Kanwar, Dr. Sunita Athvale, and Ajay Singh, for this enriching experience.
